    We are seeking a Director of Compensation/Total Rewards to be a true partner with the SVP HR & the leadership team to help manage design and delivery of key compensation program elements broadly while also advising and supporting and driving compensation program effectiveness. This is all accomplished in partnership and in support of the corporate strategies, priorities, and initiatives.  This role will also help support and drive Health & Wellness initiatives that are designed at the corporate level but allow for customization for the Vallen organization to continue to drive and enhance engagement.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Contributes to the establishment of compensation strategy and program design (variable focused) in support of our business needs and priorities considering global direction and priorities
    • Oversees research and analysis to assist in ongoing budgeting, competitive analysis, tracking/accruals, and management reporting and compilation of best practices 
    • In support of our corporate office, manages key programs for executives and staff related to base, short-term incentive, sales compensation and health and wellness initiatives
    • Manages aspects of annual salary planning, job classifications and evaluation; provides variable compensation plan design guidance and consulting related to key initiatives as well as lead Executive Compensation Meetings for the entire Vallen organization.
    • Provides consultation and guidance to HR Business Partners and management relative to ongoing pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation, job evaluation and assists in targeted total compensation design efforts
    • Develops and maintains a central repository of compensation programs, practices, and data across the organization to aid in timely, accurate visibility, assessment, and to support alignment and harmonization globally 
    • Heavily engaged in the business and understanding both field and corporate initiatives, driving research projects, benchmarking and innovative ways of looking at the business and its strategy on incenting and driving behavior through recognition programs
    • Keeps apprised of federal, state, and local compensation related regulations, e.g. FLSA, minimum wage, etc. and conducts analysis and reporting to monitor and ensure ongoing compliance

     

    Ideally this position will be based out of Vallen's corporate headquarters in Belmont, NC, but remote work will be considered for the right candidate.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or a related field preferred, particularly with STI (bonus) in addition to sales compensation, Benefits and Payroll
    • 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in compensation
    • Health & Wellness experience a plus
    • Expert level excel user with strong data management and analytical skills required
    • Knowledge of legal regulations as they pertain to compensation preferred
    • Creates and delivers presentations on function-related subject matter and writes in a clear, concise form
    • Detail oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
    • Exhibits the ability to multi-task and perform as a team player in a fast-paced dynamic environment
    • Possesses strong customer and results orientation

    • Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control and safety.

    • Must have good visual acuity and motor coordination.

    • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions.
    • Strong computer skills (data entry and typing).
    • Honest, dependable, and conscientious.
    • Knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) computerized practice management and other record keeping systems.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
