    OPPORTUNITY: We are a Foodservice folding carton manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join our CHICAGO, IL team.     JOB SUMMARY:

     The Janitor performs job duties within the Chicago Facility. The person who occupies this position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the cafeteria area in addition to all restrooms and offices. This person is also responsible for collecting and removing garbage from these areas.

     

    JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

    The following is a list of specific duties which are considered the essential functions of this job.  The list is not exhaustive, as all positions at the Company are dynamic.  The employee who occupies this position is expected to assume any/all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in this list.

     

    Work within and adhere to GPI’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork.

     

    • Responsible for cleaning the cafeteria area. This entails:
      • Sweeping and mopping floor of cafeteria.
      • Collecting and removing all garbage from area.
      • Cleaning all tables and windows in area.
    • Responsible for cleaning all restrooms.
      • Replacing all paper towels, toilet paper and all other necessary toiletries.
      • Cleaning all toilets, sinks, and mirrors within restrooms.
      • Cleaning all water fountains and replacing paper cups.
    • Responsible for cleaning all offices. This entails:
      • Vacuuming the floor of each office and the hall area between offices.
      • Collect and remove all trash from waste baskets.
      • Collect all recyclable paper and place into grinder.
      • Dust around office area.

     

    Responsible for performing any other cleaning duty assigned by management.

     

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

    • Experience:  None (entry-level).

    EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

     

    SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Schedules are up to 8 or 12-hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off.  However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
    • Some Departments/Jobs may run a M-F 8-hour Shift Schedule.
    • Must be willing and able to work overtime.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignments, for extended periods.
    • Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
    • Routine Lifting up to 40 lbs.
    • Occasional Lifting up to 35-50 lbs.
    • Reading computer screens or other electronic devices.
    • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.
    • Work in areas of fluctuating temperature.
