Job Description
The Stratas Team has an exciting opportunity for a talented engineer intern at our Fresno, CA plant to learn the inner workings of our organization and contribute to the success of our fast-growing company. As an intern with Stratas Foods, you will not only work with and learn from industry professionals, but you will also share in the culture of accountability at Stratas Foods and have the opportunity to work at any of the facilities within the Operations group.
1. Involvement in one of the following plant processes:
· High Speed Packaging Lines
· Manufacturing Process
· Plant Utilities
2. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
3. Performs a variety of tasks.
4. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
5. Provides minimal technical support to operations to ensure production goals of the organization are met.
6. Provides assistance related to the review of existing manufacturing equipment and processes.
7. May suggest or implement equipment purchases, modifications or calibration changes that could result in improved productivity or reduced costs related to production.
8. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
9. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Must be detail oriented.
Must possess the ability to perform root cause analysis.
Must possess the ability to prioritize.
Must be willing to travel to any of the manufacturing locations.
Qualifications
At least a Junior engineering student with expected graduation in 2022 or 2023 in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with 3.0 cumulative GPA or greater.
Additional Information
PHYSICAL: Sitting/Walking/Climbing as required in a manufacturing environment. On your feet for most of the shift with occasional lifting climbing stairs and ladders including rail cars and trucks. The employee will also be required to use hands, arms and fingers. The physical requirements are they must have the ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel, stand for long periods of time, work in small spaces, and work with heights.
SENSORY: Good Listening Skills; Public speaking abilities to communicate with both hourly and salaried personnel. Along with the listening skills you have to be able to determine the purpose of what you’re listening to and prioritize accordingly. Ability to perform sensory testing on in-process and finished product samples, must be able to distinguish issues from taste, smell or sight of the product.
MENTAL/REASONING: Organizational; Decision making ability; Multi-tasking; Must have strong analytical and problem solving abilities to accommodate a quick paced environment (a quick thinker).
