SPOs take all actions necessary up to and including deadly force to protect the nations most sensitive national security interests at Pantex in accordance with applicable Federal Orders, Policies, Regulations and Rules. * Assess and report on emergency situations. * Attend all required safety meetings and training. * Participate in worker involvement including input to work planning and methods to identify hazards and controls. * Prevent and report all violations of Safety regulation(s). * Report fires and other hazards that would damage property and/or endanger life and physical security. * Understand a workers right to pause or stop work when they feel their own or others personal safety is jeopardized. * Security duties are based on Site Specific Mission Essential Task List (SSMETL). * Perform all aspects of security control/enforcement, physical protection of the Plant population and government property, and response to situations that may require arrest and/or the use of force up to and including deadly force. * Stand watch on post/patrol as assigned; check all persons for proper identification; control access and egress of personnel into and out of designated security areas; and control property, packages and materials brought into and carried out of the Plant. * Operate SS&ES communication, sensing, assessment, and surveillance systems as required by job duties. * Maintain a thorough knowledge of and follow all Protective Force Orders, Plans, Procedures and Processes for routine and emergency actions and responses. * Maintain all medical requirements, physical readiness standards and firearms qualification/proficiency demonstrations required by 10 CFR 1046. * Attend and successfully complete all training classes ad required by 10 CFR 1046, CNS Pantex Technical Training, the Safeguards & Security Training Department, and the Safeguards, Security, & Emergency Services (SS&ES) Division Management Team. * Apply established personnel and operating policies and programs, including Union Agreements, employee concerns, discipline processes, and safety, health and security standards. * Maintain a thorough knowledge of applicable Federal, State, DOE, Corporate and Plant rules, regulations and Plantwide operating policies and procedures. * Must have a favorable personality, sense of responsibility and discretion and ability to get along with others. * Offer suggestions on improvements to the work environment. * Security duties based on Site Specific Mission Essential Task List (SSMETL) associated with fixed post duty assignments. * Security duties based on Site Specific Mission Essential Task List (SSMETL) associated with basic readiness duty assignments. * Security duties based on Site Specific Mission Essential Task List (SSMETL) associated with advanced readiness duty assignments. Specific Job Knowledge & Training Required * Must be a United States Citizen. * Must be at least 21 years of age. * Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. * Must have a valid State Motor Vehicle Operators license. * All qualifications, work history, training and education will be verified by direct contract with former employers and/or documented proof. * Ability to perform the functions and responsibilities involved will be determined by the comprehensive interview and background evaluation. * Must have an acceptable/successful preemployment background investigation. * Must complete and submit a Standard Form (SF86), Questionnaire for National Security Positions (QNSP). * Must successfully complete a job related test. * Must successfully complete a reading comprehension test. * Must successfully complete a selfassessment (selfassessments are for external applicants only). * Must be physically and medically fit to perform the above job functions as required by 10 CFR 1046 (This evaluation is conducted by the Occupational Medicine Department). * Must successfully complete a Physical Readiness Assessment (PRA) conducted by Safeguards, Security and Emergency Services Physical Fitness Specialists. * Successfully pass the advanced readiness standard fitness qualification test (initial entry level): * Run one (1) mile in eight (8) minutes and 30 seconds or less. * Run a 40 yard dash from the prone position in 8.0 seconds or less. * Both the PRA and the advanced readiness standard fitness qualification test will be administered on the same day. * Pass a Federal background security clearance and obtain a Q security clearance. * Become certified in the Human Reliability Program (HRP) and if required, successfully pass the counterintelligence scoped polygraph examination. * Maintain required security clearance level and HRP requirements/certifications. * Complete all PRAs and appropriate physical readiness standard qualification test. * Maintain firearms qualification and proficiency demonstration standards. * Maintain arming status under 161k requirements. * Maintain all medical requirements for assigned job duties; * Successfully pass the annual fixed post readiness standard qualification test; * Successfully pass the annual advanced readiness standard fitness qualification test; * Run one (1) mile run in eight minutes and 30 seconds or less and * Run a 40 yard dash from the prone position in 8.0 seconds or less. * Successfully pass all firearms qualifications, firearms proficiency demonstrations, and sitespecific courses of fire; and * Successfully complete all training required by the Safeguards, Security, and Emergency Services Annual Training Plan. * Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security. Education & Relevant Experience Must be able to demonstrate an acceptable working knowledge of basic law enforcement, military, or security principles, including arrest procedures; basic firstaid, force continuum; use of force to include deadly force; vehicle stops; use of firearms; firearms safety; selfdefense; building/personnel/vehicle searches; patrol procedures; and police/military tactics by meeting at least 1 of the requirements from either category listed below: * Bachelors or Associates degree in a related discipline such as Criminal Justice, Security Management, Political Science, Law Enforcement, Public Administration or related field deemed suitable by Protective Force Management, combined with a minimum of 1 year security related job experience, such as those listed above, or * Minimum of 1 year prior nuclear security experience at a Department of Energy (DOE) or National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) site, Nuclear Power Plant, military nuclear security assignment; or other location subject to oversight by the Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Homeland Security, or other federal agency, or * Military Occupational Specialty Qualification (MOSQ) in a related combat arms, law enforcement or security field, such as Military Police (Army), Security Police/Specialists (Air Force), Shore Patrol (Navy) , Security Forces (Marines), Air Base Ground Defense (Air Force), Infantry, or Mechanized Infantry/Armor as documented on a DD214 form or other valid documentation, or * Current or prior commission as a Peace Officer with a recognized law enforcement academy (municipal, state or federal), such as Municipal Police, Sheriff, State Trooper, State Police, FBI, Secret Service, Treasury, ICE, etc., or * Peace Officer certificate from a recognized law enforcement academy (local, state, or federal), such as Municipal Police, Sheriff, State Trooper, State Police, FBI, Secret Service, Treasury, US Marshals, Drug Enforcement, or Border Patrol, etc. HUMAN RELIABILITY PROGRAM (HRP): This position requires 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 712 Human Reliability Program (HRP) certification. If the successful candidate is not currently certified in the HRP, the certification process will be initiated upon assumption of the position. If the successful candidate is currently certified in the HRP, a review for HRP certification in the appropriate category will be performed by the hiring manager and the HRP Management Official, and the certification process in the appropriate category will be initiated upon assumption of the position.
