    Alarm Dispatcher Requisition #: 180471, 180472 Location: TXAmarillo DOE O 426.2: 0 Company Order Number: indirect # of openings: 2 Description THIS POSITION IS FOR ROTATING SHIFTS Posting Title Firefighter / Paramedic Posting Start Date 05/16/2018 Organization/Department Safeguards, Security & Emergency Services / Fire Department Reference Code 180471 Specific Job Responsibilities * Perform duties as assigned in the Emergency Services Dispatch Center (ESDC), including but not limited to monitoring alarms, dispatching emergency response personnel and completing other administrative duties in support of the Plant mission. * Receive reports of fires, fire alarms, medical emergencies and hazardous material spills and/or incidents by radio, telephone, alarm system, verbally and/or through the Plant Shift Superintendents (PSS). * Monitor and operate electronic alarm, communication and information systems, providing notification or indication of safety degradation; accurately interpret alarms and reported incidents, and dispatch appropriate emergency response personnel in coordination with the PSS. * Record alarm and response information as provided by procedure and disseminate information in coordination with the PSS. * Document, in detail, emergency eventrelated information and pertinent facts such as time of receipt of all alarms, events, medical emergencies and hazardous material releases. Promptly notify emergency response personnel and direct dispatch of necessary resources in accordance with procedures. * Assist with alarm or emergency situations as they occur throughout the Operations Center OC and/or ESDC. * Maintain appropriate knowledge, familiarity and application of Plant Standards and procedures. * Maintain a thorough knowledge of applicable Federal, State, DOE, Corporate and Plant rules, regulations and Plantwide operating policies and procedures. * Participate in worker involvement, including input to work planning and methods to identify hazards and controls. * Attend and successfully complete training classes as determined by the Technical Training Department and Management, through General Employee Training (Reference DOE Order 426.2). * Encourage worker involvement including work planning and hazards identification and controls. * Respect a workers right to stop work when they feel his or her own or others personal safety is jeopardized. * Attend all required safety meetings and training. * Offer suggestions on improvements to the work environment. * Perform other duties as assigned. Specific Job Knowledge & Training Required * Must be able to perform all duties and functions outlined above. * Must meet initial employment requirements. * Must be able to read, write, and comprehend applicable written and/or oral instructions. * Must be physically fit to perform the above job functions as determined by Medical Evaluation. * Must have a general knowledge of all buildings and Plant layout so as to become thoroughly knowledgeable of building locations and alarm systems within a reasonable time. * Must have knowledge of all procedures and operations of alarm, information and communication systems. * Must possess the ability to use public address, radio and telephone communication systems with a clear voice (may be requested to demonstrate). * All qualifications, work history, training and education are to be verified by direct contact with former employers and/or documented proof.Ability to perform the functions and responsibilities involved will be determined by a comprehensive evaluation and performance test and background evaluation. * Must have computer skills, including basic keyboarding aptitude, as demonstrated by a comprehensive evaluation and Typing Test. * Must have a proven understanding of Microsoft Office Suites. * Must have three years of recent experience with alarm system or database application software (i.e. Fire, Security, Utilities, etc.). * Continued placement in position is contingent upon successful completion of MAS software training and maintenance of skill proficiency via specific training and testing as required for UL listing. * Must complete and maintain required telecommunication course and/or courses as specified in training matrix and Dispatch software training. * Must successfully complete Dispatch Test. * Must be able to work variable shifts. Must have three years of recent experience with alarm system or database application software (i.e. Fire, Security, Utilities, etc.). DOE ORDER 426.2 REQUIREMENTS: Personnel entering positions and performing duties, identified by management as, falling under the requirements of DOE O 426.2 must meet certain minimum education and experience requirements as provided in the Order. WI02.04.01.06.10) Note: Requires a Q Clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required. Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, the candidate must complete a counterintelligencescope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medial requirements may apply. If the successful candidate in not currently certified in the HRP, the certification process will be initiated upon assumption of the position. If the successful candidate is currently certified in the HRP, a review for HRP certification in the appropriate category will be performed by the hiring manager and the HRP Management Official, and the certification process in the appropriate category will be initiated upon assumption of the position.
