Lead and validate weapon startup and process change activities. Develop and maintain documentation associated with weapon assembly/disassembly operations. Pointofcontact for weapons system activities. Coordinate and lead implementation of weapon processing changes with various internal and external organizations. Perform other job duties as assigned. The employee primarily performs work requiring advanced knowledge. The advanced knowledge must be in a field of science or engineering; and the advanced knowledge must be customarily acquired by a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction. Advanced knowledge is generally used to analyze, interpret and make deductions from varying facts or circumstances. Specific Job Knowledge & Training Required This position requires knowledge of assembly/disassembly processes; ability to coordinate and execute the writing, editing, and revising of Operating Procedures in accordance with Design Agency drawings, specifications, technical papers, reports, and other documentation as required for weapon assembly/disassembly processes; ability to develop and maintain historical information; ability to coordinate verification and validation of documents with technical and operations personnel prior to release for approval and implementation; ability to recommend, prepare, and maintain operating procedures; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to act as technical and project lead for weapon system; ability to lead and implement change throughout Pantex and Nuclear Weapons Complex; ability to interact with organizations across the Nuclear Weapons Complex; and the ability to present information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word; and ability to read, interpret and apply requirements of technical drawings and documents. Education & Relevant Experience Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline (chemical, electrical, mechanical, civil, industrial, petroleum, or nuclear) and/or holds a Texas Professional Engineering License (PE). Please reference CNS Engineering, Science and IT Professional Leveling Chart. AND The applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., Bachelors in engineering or related science, 2 years job related and at least 1 year nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative). NOTES: The job related and nuclear experience requirements noted above are not a prerequisite for Pantex employment. These experience requirements can be satisfied based on Pantex experience obtained following employment. In the interim, until experience requirements are met, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. DOE O 426.2) This position requires a Q clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. This position requires HRP certification. If the successful candidate is not currently certified in the HRP, the certification process will be initiated upon assumption of the position. If the successful candidate is currently certified in the HRP, a review for HRP certification in the appropriate category will be performed by the hiring manager and the HRP Management Official, and the certification process in the appropriate category will be initiated upon assumption of the position.
