Basic Function: As an intern, you will gain experience while supporting the departments function. Scope/Supervision: Work at one of our Greater Cleveland-area Divisions or at our Corporate Headquarters in Cleveland for the summer on Supply Chain Management related projects. The manager will help the intern develop experience in supply chain management. Responsibilities - Possible areas of work include: o Inventory management. o Procurement and/or logistics for Parker plants/divisions. o Acquire skills to produce maximum profit and provide quality service. o Develop insights to supply chain management including: procurement forecasting, order entry, processing, inventory control, and logistics while learning Parkers Lean system. Past Supply Chain / Logistics projects have included: Review, approve, and process purchase orders; Set up new suppliers and supplier maintenance; Organize and determine a best method of transportation for frequent lanes of transportation; Analyze and record the efficiency rates of the Less-than-Truckload providers; Update addresses, authorization list, and supplier payment terms in requisition system.
