Electrical Engineering Intern Location US-CA-Carlsbad # Positions 2 Category Engineering Position Description At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Electrical Engineering Intern HCL to join the Wattstopper Team in Carlsbad, CA. The successful candidate will be working individually or as part of a design team, develops, evaluates and validates product design, specification and design reviews, documentation packages, preproduction builds and transfers to production. This role will support the human-centric lighting project. Human-centric lighting: The Wattstopper Blanco family of LED light engines provide easy self-commissioning solutions for dim-to-dark and tunable white applications that integrate into a broad range of luminaires. These LED light engines provide integrated Digital Lighting Management (DLM) controls which enable both zone and luminaire-level lighting control. The Wattstopper Architectural Dimming product line adds the flexibility of open control protocols including DMX and DALI. This product line gives specifiers the option to use luminaires that have not integrated the Blanco LED light engine technology. What Will You Do? MAIN JOB DUTIES: Working closely with the Senior Electrical Engineer, contribute to the development of the Engineering Product Specification for our next generation of Human Centric Lighting Products Schematic design for our next generation of Human Centric Lighting Products Firmware development for our next generation of Human Centric Lighting Products Performs other similar and related duties as required. Qualifications Required Skills EDUCATION: Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE: Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively. Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment. Fosters open communication and support an environment of innovation and creative change. Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities. Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of tasks at various stages of work. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
