    Job Description

    We are seeking a Payroll Analyst to join our payroll team, utilizing Workday Payroll. In this role, you’ll ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll and related accounting activities, contributing to smooth operations and a positive experience for our associates. You’ll bring expertise in payroll processes, a strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations, and a commitment to data integrity.

    Position Location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness, and recreation.

    What you will be doing:

    • Support the processing of weekly and bi-weekly payroll inputs and payments.
    • Reconcile payroll taxes using ADP Smart Compliance and resolve submission discrepancies.
    • Reconcile and process weekly integrations and third-party payments, including net pay, taxes, and garnishments.
    • Process compensation for highly compensated employees, including stock and non-qualified payments, ensuring tax compliance at state and federal levels.
    • Analyze payroll-related expenses (e.g., labor, benefits, taxes) to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
    • dentify and support process improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
    • Collaborate on cross-departmental project teams, including payroll support for acquisitions and business transitions.
    • Assist with the implementation of new payroll procedures and projects aligned with business or regulatory changes.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 3+ experience processing multi-state payroll utilizing Workday Payroll Module.
    • Experience with time and attendance systems (Workday and UKG Pro/UKG Dimensions).
    • Working experience with payroll taxes at the federal, state, and local levels
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (V-lookup and pivot tables).

    Additional Information

    Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $60,000 USD - $75,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
