Phoseon currently has an opening for a Mechanical Engineer – Retrofits. In this role you will be a key member of our Engineering and project press retrofit staff reporting to our VP of Operations. You must be a dedicated team player committed to working in a high growth organization, and able to resolve complex design issues in the area of flexographic printing and industrial curing applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define design requirements and specifications in accordance with manufacturing and customer expectations and requirements
- Work with field and applications engineers to define processes and configure customer solutions for printing press LED lamp retrofits
- Create standardized documentation and measurement systems
- Determine and implement appropriate tests to validate design, perform verification testing
- Interact with suppliers to source mechanical parts
- Collaborates with peer engineering teams, customers, vendors, application specialist, and manufacturing to complete product designs across all phases of the engineering development cycle
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years in mechanical design & machine design including mounting structures, manual motion systems
- 3+ years’ experience using solid modeling tools (Solidworks preferred)
- Previous experience in the flexographic printing industry strongly preferred, including knowledge of flexographic printing presses and design
- Ability to travel up to 25% domestic and international, working onsite for verification and installation at customer locations
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership for mechanical and retrofit engineering projects
- Ability to work with aggressive schedules
- Ability to generate, follow and explain detailed proposals and operating procedures (i.e. assembly instruction, inspection procedures and capitol project proposals)
- Demonstrated ability to work within a cross-functional environment, exhibiting excellent interpersonal and communication skill
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to travel internationally without restriction.
