Phoseon Technology is the world leader in providing UV LED solutions for commercial applications. Phoseon’s Life Science Division employs dedicated scientists, researchers, engineers, and application specialists focused on serving the needs of equipment suppliers and end-users.
Phoseon currently has an opening for a Research Assistant. In this role you will be a key member of our Life Sciences staff reporting to our General Manager. You must be a dedicated team player committed to working in a high growth organization and able to design, execute, analyze, and report research activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design experiments in chemistry, microbiology, cell biology and physics.
- May be called on to execute techniques such as titration, HPLC, instrumentation testing, quantification of DNA, RNA, enzymes, and other biomolecules.
- Tissue culture, including maintenance of established cell lines.
- Design, support, and execute high content analysis assays.
- Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to industry standard for cell culture and high content assays.
- Review and update laboratory procedures as required.
- Analyze data, as assigned, including the analysis of screening data to establish parameters for hit selection.
- Prepare reports and technical presentations for both internal and external groups.
- Contribute to publications and presentation of results as white papers, posters, and application notes at relevant scientific conferences or in journals.
- Other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS or equivalent in a life science subject (chemistry, biology, micro- or molecular biology, biomedical engineering, pharmacy, or similar).
2 years of experience in laboratory or clinic environment (including academics).
- Competency in standard biology and chemistry lab techniques.
- Demonstrable skill in cell handling and culture with good sterile technique, primary cell isolation and culture desirable.
- Experience in the design of experiments, interpretation of data, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with fluorescent cell imaging, with knowledge of basic principles.
- Technical experience within high content analysis preferred.
- Ability to perform experiments with high a degree of accuracy and independence.
- Knowledge of drug discovery, toxicology, or pharmacology a plus.
- A willingness to learn new techniques and concepts on a per project basis.
