    Phoseon Technology is the world leader in delivering high power, UV-LED technology. Phoseon pioneered the Semiconductor Light Matrix (SLM). With SLM technology, OEMs can manufacture the environmentally cleanest, coolest operating, and most efficient UV curing systems commercially available.

     A successful Test Engineer will have solid product test experience and skills. This position requires a self- starter and self-managing individual who thrives in a hands-on, dynamic environment.

    SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Participate on new product development teams to establish appropriate test routines and parameters as new products are brought into full production. 
    • Conceive, create, implement, and use, test and troubleshooting procedures, equipment, and fixtures in a production environment.  Components may include, but are not limited to:
      • PLC and I/O modules
      • Wired and wireless sensors for temperature, optical, voltage, current, mechanical, etc. data collection
      • Power supplies
      • Linear motion controllers and components
      • Computer hardware and software
      • Metric and SAE fasteners and other hardware
    • Continually monitor and evaluate product test trends and failures, including SPC and product performance data.  Implement changes and improvements to test routines and parameters based on data analysis.  Prepare and present reports to management and peers on product performance trends and issues.
    • Work with electrical engineers and technicians when necessary to resolve emerging issues.  Use and interpret schematic diagrams to troubleshoot complex electronic circuit problems.
    • Create and update test instructions and documentation, using correct technical terminology, in terms that manufacturing personnel can understand and follow.  Understand the target audience and write to the level that can be easily understood.  Use photos and diagrams to emphasize important topics.
    • Understand, use, and appropriately maintain internal data systems, including ERP, Bugtracker, proprietary database operations, and custom software driven tools. Use the standard suite of Windows applications for documentation and communication within the company.
    • Work with electrical and mechanical design engineers to optimize products for customer needs and for efficient manufacturability.
    • Select and use hand and power tools correctly, and train manufacturing technicians on proper tool use.
    • Train Production Test and Assembly technicians in proper assembly, test, and simple troubleshooting procedures.
    • Communicate design problems and improvements to the appropriate entities within the company and follow through to satisfactory resolution for best product quality and manufacturability.
    • Manage process and product improvement projects, including ad hoc teams to resolve nascent or persistent production issues.  Periodically prepare and present reports to management and peers on project progress, evaluating trends, results, and effectiveness.
    • Become familiar with Phoseon Technology resources: equipment, personnel, systems, and space.  Use Phoseon resources to full advantage to achieve the company objectives of continual improvement and customer satisfaction.
    • Maintain awareness of production status and work with management and peers, adjusting work priorities to help meet shipment schedules while maintaining product performance and quality specifications.
    • Adhere to all Phoseon safety and hygiene protocols.
    • Build prototypes, alpha, and beta products.  Work with manufacturing technicians to train assembly and test procedures.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • B.S. in electrical engineering, or equivalent military and work experience.
    • 3+ years work in a manufacturing environment

     

    HOURS:

    40-hour work week, flexible schedule with some work on day shift, swing shift, with some overtime and emergency calls. This position is on-site at our Hillsboro, OR headquarters (located near Cornelius Pass and Evergreen Pkwy).
