Type of internship: Remote
Duration: 3 months (June, July, August)
Weekly Schedule: 20-24 hours per week
JOB SUMMARY:
The Global Corporate Communications team is seeking a creative self-starter who will work approximately 20-24 hours per week in support of social media, web and communications initiatives. This position is intended to be a 3-month internship, with a possible extension into the fall. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, have a passion for writing, and be social media savvy with an interest in marketing and communication strategies for internal and external audiences. This position will report to the Senior Specialist, Digital Communications.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Draft content and schedule posts for the Avery Dennison Corporate social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram
Identify new ways to reach Avery Dennison’s external audience via social media, digital advertising, and our website (averydennison.com)
Strategize new topics and write engaging stories for the Avery Dennison external blog
Support internal communications initiatives by writing and publishing content to the Avery Dennison intranet
Manage Avery Dennison HQ digital monitors: create content and post using digital monitor software
Actively participate in team meetings
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (junior/senior year). Ideally in Communications, or Marketing from an accredited college or university.
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to operate effectively as a self-starter, but also participate in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be organized and place importance on project ownership, attention to detail, and have the ability to handle a quick-paced environment
Must be proficient in social media management and content creation: Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram
Knowledge of Sprout Social is a big plus!
Knowledge of a content management system (like Adobe) is a plus!
Ability to handle multiple requests and prioritize effectively
