    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which

                 can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.

    • Determines feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs,

                 available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.

    • Provides technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties,

                and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning.

    • Confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops design.
    • Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
    • Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype product or system.
    • Compiles and analyzes operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment.
    • Develops PFMEA alongside design engineers and manufacturing engineers
    • Develops control plan alongside manufacturing engineers and quality engineers
    • Supports development of product launch curve
    • Develops production test strategy based on product requirements, PFMEA, launch curve, and control plan
    • Develops, implements and maintains automated vision systems and digital image processing systems
    • Developments and implements production line control software
    • Reviews ECN’s for implications to existing production lines and manages corresponding actions
    • Plans and develops experimental test programs.
    • Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
    • Confers with research and other engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as required.
    • Evaluates engineering test results for possible application to developments of systems or other uses.

     

     

    Required Skills

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

     

    • Must be able to read technical specifications, CAD/CAM drawings and schematics

    • MUST POSSESS EFFECTIVE WRITTEN AND VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS, AND BE COMPUTER LITERATE IN MS WORD, EXCEL AND OUTLOOK

    • Knowledge of Visual Basic.Net a must

    • Knowledge of LABVIEW programing

    • Knowledge and understanding of processes quality planning methods (PFMEA, control plan, etc)

    • Programming of PLCs (Automation Direct preferred)

    • Knowledge of automated vision systems and digital image processing a plus

    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

    • Demonstrated ability to understand businesses and translate their needs into technical documents

    • Must be fully Bilingual English/Spanish

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    •  BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

     

    Required Experience

    • 10 years’     experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
