Sherwood Metal Products (SMP) has two locations, the main plant in Wickliffe, Ohio and our Finishing Plant in Eastlake, Ohio. Wickliffe has approximately 377 employees while the Eastlake plant supports 118. The Human Resources department consists of the HR Manager, HR Generalist, EHS Manager, and HR/Benefits Administrator. EOE - Minorities/Females/Veterans/Disabled RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for all implementation and administration of various compensation and human resource programs including but not limited to the following: * Prioritize and coordinate a wide variety of tasks and activities of the Human Resource department which may include personnel, medical records, job evaluations and benefits administration * Assist in the administration of employee compensation programs. * Provides job analysis, resolving compensation questions and issues. * Evaluates and compares existing compensation programs through surveys, research and analysis to ensure plans are competitive and effective. * Utilizes HR resources for various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel * Knowledge of Workers Compensation claims, cases, eligibility reports, etc. * Assists in development and implementation of policies and procedures * Ensure EEO, Affirmative Action are in place, properly executed and in legal compliance. * Administration of employee pension calculations. * Prepares hourly and salary wage administration/structures * Prepares reports, presentation materials, for review and approval by Manager. * Maintain confidential records (interface with Payroll) * Review and assure compliance with Federal and Ohio statues as it affects employee benefits. * Develop and maintain a system of procedures to administer the employee fringe benefit program, including health care plan. * Oversee the reconciliation of heath plan monthly eligibility reports. * Employee Relations skills required * Perform all other duties as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS * Must possess excellent communication skills both oral and written skills required to interface with employees and management personnel. * Bachelors degree in Business or Human Resource Management required and 3-5 years Human Resources Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment with a working knowledge of federal and state employment laws. * Candidates must have advanced skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint * Detail oriented/organized individual with the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality * Must be able to work in a team environment * Good understanding of legal compliance (EEO, FMLA/Workers Compensation Laws). * Must be a detail oriented/organized individual with the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. * All applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder).
