  • Responsibilities

    Prepares and maintains Product Detail and Assembly Drawings using Pro-Engineer (CAD). Creates Standards, Specifications and relevant Technical information for Gates products to be manufactured to. All documentation is created in line with ISO 9001 and other specific International Standards or company directives.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned beyond the core functions listed below.

    • 50%: 3D modeling and drafting of Gates fluid power products. Generating prints and 3D models for Gates database systems and as requested by customers (internal/external).
    • 20%: Facilitates processing of Engineering Change Requests and Notices (ECN/ECR’s) generated by Gates development, manufacturing, product application, and marketing groups.
    • 20%: Maintains component and top level database in PDMLink to ensure revision accuracy and tractability consistent with Gates Global Standards. Provides technical oversight for drafting support.
    • 10%: Maintain Gates global drafting standards, including model accuracy (PTC Model Check). Research and develop best practices for 3D modeling.

    QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • Minimum Associate Degree in Engineering Drafting/Designing field
    • 2 years general and/or 1 year specific experience with 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) preferably with PTC Pro/E Creo and PTC Windchill

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • High degree of mechanical aptitude.
    • Competency in drawing interpretation, spreadsheet analysis, database research, and presentation skills.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
    • Ability to adapt and learn new technologies quickly.
    • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision. Self-motivated and ethical.
    • Strong team player; proactively able to support other team members as needed and share knowledge to allow cross training of all key functions; builds collaborative relationships.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
