The Product Safety Communication Specialist is responsible for integrating the elements of product safety into product manuals and other forms of technical communication. This includes assisting with the maintenance and development of product safety and instructions signs, training programs and safety videos, review of marketing materials, and other forms of safety communication for company products.

Role & Responsibility

General:

Specific duties include providing technical resource during development of product manuals, and other product communication forms. Ensure information results in consistent and effective safety communication. Participate in the development of and revisions to warning and instructions signs. Participate in the development/revision of safety videos and operator training programs for company products. Review product development documentation and technical literature for accuracy and completeness.

Safety Communications Systems:

• Provide technical resource during development of product manuals, decals and other product communication forms to ensure information results in consistent and effective safety communication across all product lines.
• Participate in the development/revision of safety training resources including safety videos and operator training courses for company products.
• Review product development documentation and technical literature for accuracy and completeness.
• Serve as liaison for NPD projects for safety communications.
• Assist with development of rules and guidelines for marketing and advertising.
• Review marketing materials such as social media posts, website pages, and product brochures
• Serve as product safety representative as needed in marketing photo and video shoots
• Assist with the promotion of Bobcat's training resources at industry trade shows and other similar events.

Collaboration & Training:

• Interface closely with Product Safety and Compliance Team
• Collaborate with Marketing department
• Collaborate with technical publications team globally to ensure consistent safety communications systems in product manuals, field campaigns, and other forms of technical communication.

Compliance Documentation:

• Assist with the development of the design verification and testing (DVAT) templates
• Assist with regional compliance documentation
  • EU Technical Construction File Indexes
  • EU Declaration of Conformity
  • Safety Certificates (Korea, Japan, etc)

Job Requirement

• Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field
• Experience Required: > 5-10 years
• Travel Required: > 10-24%
• Typically requires four or more years of experience in communications or marketing
• Knowledge of communications best practices, including techniques and standards relevant to writing, editing, formatting, composing, and producing written and web materials.
• Writing and copy-editing skills, able to capture and communicate both simple and complex material.
• Creative mind with ability to easily navigate Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong organization, time management, and project management skills with ability to multi-task and thrive within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
