Program Management Summer Intern -Liberty Works

THE FUNCTION:
Liberty Works leads research and development of technologies for US Defense Business Development. With a focus on early-stage Technology Readiness Level (TRL) projects and innovative solutions, Liberty Works delivers technology demonstration programs to enable and enhance the capabilities of our customers’ next-generation power systems.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
This role will support one or more Liberty Works Research & Development program(s). Key responsibilities may include:
Support the Liberty Works Advanced Platforms Program team in daily tasks and customer deliverables
Establish a detailed cost and schedule plan for an activity and then execute the plan.
Responsible for the cost account management of small projects.
Prepare for and assist in conducting both internal and external monthly Program Management reviews.
Develop inputs for proposals and perform cross-checks to validate data.
Prepare and submit reports for customer contract deliverable requirements.
Learn about project management tools and techniques, earned value concepts, gas turbine engines and the aerospace industry.
Multiple opportunities to meet with leaders throughout the Rolls-Royce organization to learn the numerous career paths and opportunities available.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated track record of strong problem solving and thinking agility. Flexibility and the ability to deal with the ambiguity that comes with research and development projects are key to being successful in the role.
With appropriate support from senior personnel, candidates must be able to:
Effectively solve problems through good interpersonal skills and effective teaming
Demonstrate written and oral communication to a variety of audiences (e.g., shop floor, technical experts, and management)
Skillfully present their work to others orally and prepare accompanying visual aids
Work independently to plan and execute tasks to meet program deadlines
RELEVANT MAJORS: Engineering, Business or Management, Engineering Management
STANDING/GRADUATION ELIGIBILITY: Attending an accredited college/university working towards a bachelor’s degree or higher
MINIMUM GPA: 3.0
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NOT REQUIRED):
Understanding and experience with MS Office
Prior technical internship or co-op
