Title Internship - Electrical Engineer Description Position Overview Assist team with developing world-class solutions to support Proterra's electric bus development projects. Exact role will be based on skill set of applicant to build off their current knowledge, learn new skills, and provide valuable assistance to Proterra. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities: * Depends on candidate background. * Mechanical candidates will deal with mechanical issues that range from studying field incidents and root causing through to new product design in Solidworks or Catia. * Electrical candidates will deal with electrical issues that range from studying field incidents and root causing through to electrical design. * Computer Science or Computer Engineering candidates will deal with programming projects that range from root causing and resolving field incidents through to developing new control code. * All disciplines may get involved in aspects of control, documentation, and project coordination. * * Position Requirements Education and Experience * Junior or Senior working towards at least a bachelors degree Engineering Required * Knowledge of progressive electrical engineering experience in high and low voltage power distribution within the transportation industry * Knowledge of electric vehicle charger connection systems, power transfer and charging system interface * Experience with SolidWorks and/or ElecWorks * Experience with Matlab/Simulink and C++ * Familiarity and experience in design of power electronics for high voltage applications a plus Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Flexible and willing to adapt as the company does * Self-starter * Able to multitask * Timely and appropriate communication to superiors and peers * Active coordination with other departments EOE Statement Proterra is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer, providing equal employment opportunities to all Employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law or ordinance.
