  • Responsibilities

    THE ADVENTURE

    As the PR Communications Intern you will be responsible for the daily management of incoming media inquiries, publicity tracking and content writing in support of the brands and products made at GE Appliances. You will contribute to new campaign initiatives, collaborate and execute on product launches and PR activations. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, advertising, design, tradeshows, digital/social and product merchandising.

    WHAT YOU WILL LEARN & DO

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • This is a year-round co-op position located in Louisville, KY; housing and relocationassistance not provided
    • Maintain and catalog media tracking for monthly reports
    • Write weekly articles for internal distribution, draft press releases and social content in conjunction with 360-campaign initiatives
    • Manage brand budget inputs and updates
    • Contribute to event planning and logistics support
    • Create PowerPoint presentations for weekly brand and product meetings
    • Take on action assignments as directed by communications team
    • Ability to work up to 40 hrs per week Monday thru Friday during typical business hours of 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM during Summer
    • During the school year ability to work up to 10 hours a week or more as class schedule allows
    • Reliable transportation to and from work is required
  • Qualifications

    WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

    • Ideal candidate is entering Junior or Senior year or pursuing a Masters Degree with a graduation date no sooner than December 2021 at an accredited University
    • Cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 out of 4.0
    • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States both now and in the future; GE Appliances will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position
    • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Effective presenter with demonstrated ability to create relevant content
    • Proven ability to embrace and effectively navigate change
    • Planning/project management skills
    • PowerPoint fluency
    • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders and within a matrixed organization
