    The Function:

    The Purchase Operations Center (POC) is made up of talented buyers that create/update Purchase Orders and Requests for Quote, resolve Rolls Royce business inquiries using a RR ticketing system, support vendor onboarding and management of profiles, and comply with purchasing policies and government requirements. We will be working to deliver strategies for many investments. In addition, new leadership within R-R are driving a critical transformation that our group can support by identifying cost savings and efficiencies to provide benefit to the overall business. Our roles are global, and we work together with our teams in the UK, Germany, India, and Singapore to deliver strong performance.

    The teams are separated between Direct (products on final product delivered to customers) and Indirect (products and services RR Businesses need to operate and delivery to customers). Both teams operate with the same purchasing procedures but work in different ERP systems (Coupa, SAP, Ivalua) to deliver what is required to meet the needs of R-R and our customers.

    What You’ll Do:

    This role will support the deliverables of the POC teams with key projects that align with the following role responsibilities:

    • Building & maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, working across all areas of the business and regions
    • Standardizing processes to align to a global team structure
    • Planning, prioritizing, and managing daily workflow, purchasing tasks/tickets, status, and reporting
    • Ensuring supplier selection and sourcing recommendations are in accordance with agreed commodity strategies and commercial frameworks
    • Conducting sourcing activities, analyzing quotes, negotiating pricing, and recommending suppliers for award
    • Operating and complying with all purchasing processes, procedures, systems, and government requirements.
    • Identifying and recommending workflow process efficiency improvements

    During this internship, you can be expected to develop the following:

    A basic understanding of:

    • Procurement processes and compliance
    • Purchase Order issuing and associated processes
    • Fundamentals of running Requests for Quote
    • Stakeholder and Supplier relationship management
    • Managing workload and adherence to customer Service-Level Agreements
    • Work in ERP systems

    Relevant Majors: Business, Finance, Supply Chain

    Standing/Graduation eligibility: Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and returning to classes after the internship.

    Minimum GPA: 3.0

    Work Authorization Eligibility: Must Be a U.S. Citizen. There is no sponsorship for this internship.
