Under the general supervision of the Marketing Communications Manager, the Graphic Design Production Artist works with the Project Managers, Marketing Managers, Clinical and Regulatory Affairs, Legal and the Labeling Packaging/Engineers (San Diego and Athens) to provide basic design, illustration, layout, production, documentation and prepress for a full range of internal product packaging component labeling. This role uses experience and knowledge of graphics software to create and produce packaging labeling artwork for components including but not limited to package inserts, quick reference instructions, procedure cards, user manuals, quickstart guides, labels and other miscellaneous labeling materials. The Graphic Design Production Artist Creates all necessary illustrations for test procedures and screen images that are a part of the labeling. He/She also provides graphic art production and management. Requirements: Education and Experience: * BA or equivalent experience and 3+ years as a graphic designer/production artist with layout experience for complex, multi-section documents. * Experience in deadline-driven environment with ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure while providing quick turnaround. * Proactive self-starter, flexible, able to anticipate problems and needs before they arise. * Exceptional listening skills with ability to synthesize information provided and use creative aptitude to suggest and create graphics or layouts that will strengthen product labeling. * Organized with excellent proofreading, attention to detail, and commitment to producing high-quality work. * Ability to prioritize, accurately estimate the time required to complete work projects, manage workload and external vendors as needed to complete projects on time. * Professional demeanor and personable team player. * Portfolio of work examples required. Knowledge/Skills: * Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) and QuarkXpress in a MAC environment. * Packaging/labeling experience required.
