    Job Description

    The R&D Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair and upkeep of equipment and
    facilities located within the Mill Hall Center of Excellence and surrounding grounds. Activities

    First Shift, M-F 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

    Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    Equipment and System Management
    ● Maintain a list of recommended parts, equipment, and system upgrades for CAPEX and
    Maintenance Expense requisitions.
    ● Support new equipment installation.
    ● Participate in Management of Change procedures and documentation.
    ● Locate and diagnose failures, replace defective components, and perform basic
    troubleshooting using standard equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches,
    specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions.
    ● Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as fume hoods,
    flammable cabinets, testing, and safety equipment.
    ● Perform a wide variety of functions including installation, maintenance, and repair of
    equipment.
    ● Assist engineers in diagnosing problems and suggesting corrective action.
    Facility Upkeep and Grounds Maintenance
    ● Paint structures, perform masonry work, and repair plumbing fixtures and woodwork.
    ● Repair, assist in repairing, or oversee contracted personnel for heating, ventilating, and
    air conditioning systems.
    ● Perform or supervise janitorial services and grounds maintenance for the COE, including
    landscaping, lawn care, and snow removal.
    ● Perform interior drywall patching and painting.
    ● Conduct exterior pressure washing.
    ● Manage floor maintenance, including carpet shampooing, hard surface floor cleaning,
    and waxing.
    ● Maintain an organized stock of maintenance items utilizing a Kanban system for
    inventory control.
    Team Collaboration
    ● Contribute and participate in team decision-making.
    ● Provide support for project work and other special requests.

    ● Technical Acumen: Proficient in the disciplines of general carpentry, finish carpentry,
    and general plumbing.
    ● Communication: Exhibits superior written and verbal communication skills, enabling
    effective interaction with both technical and non-technical personnel.
    ● Proactive & Self-Driven: A self-starter with a pronounced service and quality
    orientation. Capable of independently identifying and resolving issues, conducting
    thorough root cause analyses, and communicating findings to the team in a timely
    manner.
    ● Collaborative Contributor: Actively participates in a team-centric environment,
    fostering open communication and cultivating positive interactions with colleagues and
    management to facilitate the achievement of shared objectives.
    ● Meticulous & Adaptable: Exhibits a strong attention to detail and the capacity to
