In our program you will have the opportunity to own your own projects, participate in meetings, and work cross-functionally with other departments.
GAF is looking for an R&D intern. The ideal candidate for this role is majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Material Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Architectural Engineering, or Building Science. The intern would be responsible for working under the guidance of scientists to design & conduct experiments in the laboratory. The intern will also organize the data, analyze the results and present them to broader R&D community
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Safety oriented. Keeps safety in the forefront while carrying out all job activities
Investigate and evaluate new technologies.
Independent judgment in implementing new work methods
Design and perform experiments
Observe and evaluate technology trends and build up an excellent network internally and externally.
Designing, analyzing and testing products for development across platforms
Performs experiments with minimum to no supervision, interprets and evaluates data, contributes to written reports
Develop IP for new products or new technologies to ensure successful product launch
REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent communication skills are all necessary as is the ability to operate in a team. The successful candidate must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and an anticipated graduation date between December 2023 and May 2025.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, without visa sponsorship now and in the future.
All GAF internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however, there are no benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 37.5 hours per week over the summer. Transportation, F-1 and HB-1 visa sponsorship will not be provided in association with these positions.
