    WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

    CertainTeed/GCP Applied Technologies is seeking a motivated Research Technician to join their team in Wilmington, MA.

    The Research Technician safely performs specialized R&D assignments, involving sample preparation, testing, analyzing, improving, installing, operating, and/or solving problems concerning our processes, equipment, and products.

    Essential Functions

    The essential functions of this Research Technician include but are not limited to:

    • Prepares/processes materials samples including:
      • Active involvement in standard and exploratory experiment design.
      • Routine laboratory activity to make or prep materials and test samples.
      • Development work with non-routine R&D assignments such as design of fixtures for experimental set-up and establishing proper data acquisition.
    • Collects and reports scientific & engineering data obtained from laboratory equipment through an effective plan/coordination and maintains laboratory notebook.
    • Maintain laboratories and equipment including set-up, operation and troubleshooting of experimental equipment or instruments.

    COMPETENCIES:

    • Capability to use personal computer and Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel and Word.
    • Troubleshooting skills-to aid in fixing equipment and improving processes.
    • Basic knowledge of HSE and 5S for maintaining chemical inventories, safety programs.

    WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School Diploma or GED (demonstrated equivalent) with 1-5 years of experience in technical related field.
    • Hands-on experience in general laboratory tasks including proper chemical handling.
