    RRD is seeking a TAX SENIOR to assist with all aspects of its global income tax function. The Tax Senior is a hands-on professional that will assist with the preparation and review of RRD’s U.S. Federal & State Corporate Income tax returns, ASC 740 Tax Accounting, Audits and Special Projects. Collaborates with strategic and operational areas within the organization, including the Corporate Controllers Group, Legal, Shared Services, FP&A, Treasury, Internal Audit, etc. Reviews and research’s complex tax matters included in the annual tax returns and documents the positions with the support from the tax team and external advisors. Stays current on new tax legislation and trends that impact a U.S. multinational’s quarterly ASC 740 tax reporting and compliance. Reviews tax information supplied by the company’s operating units, both domestic and international to prepare and review Schedule M adjustments and assist with legal entity restructuring resulting from planning and transactions. Recognizes tax issues and works to resolve them timely and has a strong team approach when working with colleagues.

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Preparation and review of RRD’s U.S. Federal Consolidated Form 1120, which includes over 100 U.S. and foreign legal entities as well as Form 1118, 5471, 8858, 8865, 8975, 8990, 8991, 8992, 8993, etc. 

    • Preparation and review of RRD’s Corporate State Income & Franchise Tax Returns for over 40 states, which include modifications and factor adjustments for GILTI, Section 78, Section 250, DRD, Subpart F, Depreciation, Section 163(j), Capital Gains/Loss, etc. 

    • Preparation and review of quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments and extensions.

    • Assist with RRD’s quarterly ASC 740 global income tax reporting/forecasting, including but not limited to analysis of current/deferred taxes, purchase/disposition accounting, uncertain tax positions, return to provision, discrete events, rate reconciliations, journal entries, etc.  

    • Assist with continual process improvement where standardized processes are embedded in tax technology and HFM so GL balances are easily refreshed and imported/exported to/from the OneSource Suite of Products (E.g. OTP, OIT, GAM, UTP, OSA, OS Data Query, etc.).   

    • Provide assistance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance by adhering to internal controls supported by detailed work plans, procedures and narratives that are reviewed quarterly by RRD’s internal audit department and external audit firm. 

    • Assist with tax planning projects designed to minimize cash taxes and reduce the overall effective income tax rate, which includes income tax research and analysis of acquisition/disposition activity, legal entity restructuring/reorganizations, E&P, basis, tax credits and incentives, etc.  

    • Assist with federal, state and foreign tax audits by preparing and reviewing responses to information document requests and notices, researching tax issues and corresponding with auditors.

    • Work collaboratively while developing staff, interns and others to stay current on tax legislative updates.

     

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    • Bachelors of Science in Accounting or equivalent
    • CPA and/or Masters in Taxation preferred
    • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience
    • Familiarity with OneSource Tax Software, SAP and HFM preferred
