  • Responsibilities

    SUMMARY: The Associate Project Manager will assist the Project Manager by providing support for the planning, implementing, and tracking of key internal projects. Projects may expand beyond the Engineering Department to support Invacare’s overall strategic goals.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • With limited direction, execute or lead the following activities:
      • Assist management to create and gain approval of development schedule, financial investment, and definition of project scope, objectives, and stake holders.
      • Lead and manage various projects of increasing responsibility.
      • Update project plans in MS Project, tracking schedule and responsibilities.
      • Monitor and drive the progress of projects to meet schedule expectations.
      • Lead and document periodic review meetings with cross-functional groups, and motivate these groups to find creative solutions to challenges.
      • Motivate project team members to ensure the success of projects.
      • Track and update all associated project costs.
      • Identify, document and track project risks, and escalate through the management chain.
      • Confident to present project status to various management levels and can communicate with all levels throughout the organization.
      • Continually communicate challenges and project progress to management.
      • Ability to be effective in a remote and TEAMS meeting environment.
    • Ensure that all project activities conform to Invacare’s quality system and conform to appropriate domestic and international safety and quality standards.
    • Complete all required training applicable to assigned position.
    • Exhibit positivity, flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.

    1)  HS diploma or equivalent with 2-4 years of relevant administrative/operational support in manufacturing operations or office environment directly related to the duties of the job, OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of work experience. 2)  Requires very good knowledge of general administrative/manufacturing operations procedures and knowledge of job specific processes to successfully execute and complete the more progressive/complex duties of the job.

    3)  Ability to follow company policy and understand any rules or regulations governing the work being completed and impact work has on department or company.

    4)  Must have very good knowledge of technology to include computers and software programs such as MS Office word processing, spreadsheets or other programs specific to the job in order to complete duties successfully.

    5)  Requires good knowledge of multiple functions or areas of the business in which there is frequent contact with while completing daily work assignments of the job.

    6)  Must have very good oral and written communication skills sufficient to explain departmental policy, methods and/or procedures when completing assignments.

    7)  Requires very good organizational skills sufficient to accomplish work by established deadlines and ability to coordinate phases of work with others.
