  • Responsibilities

    Pacific Standard Print (PSP), an RRD Company, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to join their Leadership team! 

    The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of hourly direct manufacturing and / or support department employees, providing leadership to both 1st and 2nd shift.

    Leads employees in continuous improvement initiatives to ensure a safe working environment, while optimizing quality and productivity, thereby delivering the lowest-possible-cost solutions for internal and external customers.

     SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Plans, organizes, staffs, directs, supervises and controls the daily manufacturing and/or support functions with the manufacturing plant.
    2. Supports employees to achieve plant objectives by actively identifying goals, as well as barriers to reaching those goals and taking steps to eliminate them.
    3. Develops and implements operating methods and procedures.
    4. Initiates personnel actions, i.e. promotions, transfers, hiring/selection, separations and disciplinary actions.
    5. Provides an environment conducive to employee involvement by providing vision, generating commitment, encouraging work redesign, and facilitating empowerment/ennoblement of employees.
    6. Provide counseling and assistance in job related tasks associated with participate management, team facilitation, team leadership, and team membership.
    7. Identify need for and provide training in necessary interpersonal and problem solving skills.
    8. Establishes production and quality control standards.
    9. Coordinates production activities with other functions/departments.
    10. Demonstrates positive leadership characteristics and ensures continuous development of staff through principles of performance management.

    Required Skills

    EDUCATION:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Organizational Management, Business Communications, or similar preferred.

    STRONGLY PREFERRED

    • Demonstrated experience in a Printing manufacturing environment.
    • Three or more years experience in a supervisory position with a number of direct reports.

     While the above experience is strongly preferred, candidates possessing a strong skillset in one or the other, will be considered as well.

     QUALIFICATIONS

    • Candidate must have the ability to lead/mentor others.
    • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of the organization.
    • Must have a proven track record of organizing and meeting company objectives. Must also have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
    • Must demonstrate attention to detail.
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • Basic computer skills required.
