PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Oversees train operations and is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of all trains for an assigned terminal. Ensures the safety of crews and meets operational and financial targets as outlined by the TSP (Transportation Service Plan) and associated KPI's (Key Performance Indicators). Analyzes past results, forecasts and plans extensively, and recommends process improvements.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Arranges for investigations of train delays, derailments, accidents, injuries, and damage to company property or equipment and completes accountability reports;
• Performs frequent inspections of yards, equipment, property and facilities and takes action to improve conditions;
• Ensures FRA drug testing requirements are met;
• Grows relationships, communicates regularly, and is an effective partner with internal and external customers;
• Exemplifies KCS Vision, Values, and Culture in each and every interaction with team, clients, and stakeholders.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma - General Studies or GED - General Studies;
• 7 years in operations in rail or transportation industry;
• or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• **** 5 years network or support operations experience;
• 5 years Terminal operations experience;
• 3 years managing people;
• Bilingual strongly preferred.

Required Experience

• Must be able to work with various graphic design and layout software applications commonly used on Mac's and PC's. 
• A thorough understanding of digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps) from different operating systems (Mac and PC) is required. 
• Experience with imposition software and Kodak Prinergy workflow is preferred. 
• Advanced color management skills and the ability to work with different digital file formats are required. 
• Must have the ability to output digital files to various output devices; must have the ability to continue to learn and use new graphics software on an ongoing basis. 
• Must have an understanding of the offset printing process and how one color affects another. 
• Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to handle all sizes of plates.
