Mount Vernon Printing, a RR Donnelley company, in Laurel, Maryland is seeking an experienced Pressroom Supervisor. Experience of sheetfed and digital (sheetfed and roll-fed) preferred.

The primary responsibilities of the Offset Pressroom supervisor position are to achieve maximum productivity in the context of quality output from Pressroom equipment and maintaining that equipment systematically. It is the responsibility of the Pressroom supervisor to make sure Sheetfed and Digital Operators print each job in a timely fashion with the highest quality possible.

The national pay range for this role is $69,900 to $114,900/ year. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. Required Skills

• Manage day-to-day operations and ensure proper workflow in the offset and digital pressroom
• Promote safe working conditions through equipment maintenance, housekeeping, and ensuring all proper safety practices are followed
• Develop and maintain procedures and techniques to reduce process variation and manufacturing delays
• Collaborate with other production department leaders to maintain productivity and quality
• Monitor production output and respond to errors appropriately
• Analyze production data to identify trends and develop long range plans
• Promote quality across all presses and all shifts, closely monitoring work and engaging with operators
• Hire, train, develop, and manage staff to meet department and company objectives
• Interact closely with sales & service team, interacting with clients directly on press inspections
• Check levels of consumables on all presses for daily operations, resupply as needed
• Stage jobs for three shifts

Required Experience

• High School diploma or GED equivalent, some college preferred
• Knowledge and understanding of commercial offset - sheetfed and digital preferred
• Must be fully PC literate in a Windows requirement
• Ability to work independently and make decisions with little or no supervision
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• High degree of initiative
