    We're currently looking for experienced PRESS OPERATORS for this growing location!

     

    • Operate a multicolor web printing press to produce a printed product according to established quality standards.
    • Set up, adjust,  operate, and maintain a multi-color offset press to print single-color, two-color, and/or multi-color work which includes large solids, screen tints, line and halftones with critical color values and registration requirements ranging from hairline to critical. 
    • Review job specifications to determine the press setup. 
    • Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and checks for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register etc. 
    • Makes necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work.
    • Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required. Performs periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.
    • Work closely with management team to understand and assist with implementing action plans to achieve department objectives.
    • Assume a leadership role in directing crew activities to meet production deadlines safely and efficiently.
    • Be an effective team member, working collaboratively with others to foster teamwork and professionally resolve differences.
    • Ensure quality and production goals are met, offering improvement recommendations or innovative ideas.
    • Troubleshoot problems to maintain quality standards and keep equipment in good running condition.
    • Provide instruction and guidance to employees to confirm production specifications.
    • Produce a quality product that exceeds our customer’s expectations; following the requirements of documented processes as defined in the quality procedures.
    • Assist management with supporting and implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives, departmental maintenance activities, training, safety and special projects.
    • Assists with training of new employees and directs all crew activities connected with the operation of the press.
    • Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out – tag out rules and eye protection policies.
    • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

     

     

     

     

    Required Skills

    Requires comprehensive knowledge of a wide variety of techniques, procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, and safety requirements to set-up, adjust, operate, and maintain equipment to produce single or multi-color work to critical tolerances. 

    Skill to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, press settings and materials needed to run the job successfully. 

    Skill in use of micrometer and other various hand tools.
