FOH is the largest provider of occupational health services in the federal government, serving more than 300 federal agencies and reaching 800,000 federal employees. STG International is seeking a Pulmonologist to perform medical review work to provide consultation and guidance to the Department of Labor (DOL) for a variety of workers’ compensation cases. Each physician will receive work on a case by case basis and will be compensated for their work at an hourly rate for time spent performing the reviews. Estimated cases per month may vary with estimated average time for case completion is one hour.  Work will be performed remotely (outside of DOL facilities) at FOH offices or from the physician’s home/office and will require use of the internet/email. Candidate must provide own malpractice for 1099 contractor status.

Training and Operational Requirements:  All physicians must complete the following training and comply with the following: 

1. All review work must be performed electronically and entered into the DOL’s web-based system designed for the project. 
2. Contracted physicians may not perform review work for DOL using systems other than the DOL’s web-based system. 
3. Contracted physicians may be required to track time and related administrative requirements outside of the DOL web-based system. 
4. All physicians are held responsible and accountable for adhering to all DOL legal, ethical, and administrative requirements as well as FOH policies.

Required Experience

Physician Requirements:

Physicians eligible to perform the work must maintain the following credentials and meet the following requirements specified by DOL and FOH:

1. Current license
2. Board Certification in Pulmonology
3. Must maintain active clinical practice (separate from work for DOL) defined as a minimum of 240 hours direct patient care per year
4. Proof of active clinical practice must include address and telephone number of current practice
5. Physicians who are employed by, under contract to, or regularly associate with other (non-DOL) Federal agencies regarding workers’ compensation claims or fitness for duty exams of employees are disqualified.

Two years experience clinical practice required.
