Job Description

The Data Architecture Intern will join our Enterprise Reporting Team. In the same way that an architect helps builders transform raw materials into buildings, a data architect helps developers transform raw data into information. Instead of designing structures like strip malls or distribution centers, a data architect designs structures like data marts or data warehouses. These structures integrate data from multiple systems across the enterprise to power the reports and dashboards central to RR Donnelley’s decisions and processes.

Data Architecture Intern responsibilities:

• Assist with the design, documentation, and implementation of Data Architecture standards
• Review existing data models for correctness and compliance with standards
• Research data issues and questions using SQL
• Assist with creation of clear, well organized presentations and documentation
• Under general supervision, design and implement new data structures
• Seek to understand RRD business units and processes, through research and discussions with IT and business partners.

Qualifications

Data Architecture Intern requirements:

• Knowledge and programming experience with SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
• Exposure to / understanding of general data modeling concepts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Superior critical thinking skills with the ability to ask thoughtful questions
• Ability to self-start and collaborate with other team members while working in a remote setting
• Curiosity and a strong desire to learn about Data Architecture and RRD
• Completed at least 2 years of college in a technical field: computer science, MIS, mathematics, engineering, data science, or similar

The rate of pay for this role at the noted location is $20.00 / hour.
