    Our RRD Seymour, IN print location is currently looking for an Assistant Press Operator to join our team.

    Assists Press Operator with operation of press in order to obtain maximum production according to established quality procedures.

    Prepares the press for a run by verifying job specs and setting up the press accordingly.

    Directs or assists in directing the press crew and temporary employees.

    Obtains and maintains register and color during the make-ready and production processes.

    Checks components of printed piece while running to ensure that customer and quality specifications are met.

    Assists in changing required plates, and blankets

    Assists with training of new crew members.

    Set up inline finishing systems.

    Works in conjunction with the press operators and other assigned crew members in the preventative maintenance of the presses.

    Adjusts ink, and varnish to ensure that proper color is established or maintained throughout the run.

    Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out – tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies.

    Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

    Follow the requirements of documented quality procedures.

    The pay range for this role at the noted location is $19.03 - $24.74/ hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.     Required Skills

    Requires general knowledge of offset presswork procedures and materials.

    Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully.

    Skill to follow instructions to operate equipment safely and produce the desired product.

    Ability to use micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly.

    Skill in performing routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment under guidance of senior level Press Operators.

    Required Experience

    Previous experience in the operation of a web printing press or work in a printing environment, preferred.
