Oversees and coordinates the Shipping Team priorities, packs and ships product following established procedures.
Essential Functions
Leads and gives direction to the Shipping Team, establishing priorities, workload needs, over-time requirements, managing expenses, and maintains stock of shipping supplies.
Communicates and promotes safety themes, instruction, and training.
Trains new employees in their job functions.
Loads products, parts, or merchandise into designated packages, boxes, or crates.
May use various saws, banding and other packaging equipment, pneumatic staple guns, box closers/cutters and hand tools to package products for shipment.
Works with Forklift, Hand Truck and / or Pull Truck to arrange for the transportation of products; may use overhead crane.
May operate machines preparing products for shipment; use of label, UPS LTL shipment programs.
Reviews packing lists to insure all required items are included, using foam, plastic, or other materials to pack containers.
Handles material and product to maintain appropriate flow through production areas. Documents incoming and outgoing materials and supplies.
Removes shipped materials from delivery vehicles and moves to designated storage area. Incoming shipments will include products, parts, or raw materials; examines receiving documents for storage.
Operates forklift to unload/move materials or products. Delivers materials to specified locations.
Performs routine preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled and required for TPM.
Works individually and as a team to develop and implement quality and efficiency improvements.
Conducts tests and inspections of processes to evaluate quality or performance; examines work to verify conformance to specifications.
