    Job Description

    The HR Business Partner role is an Exempt/Management position that provides Employee Relations support to the Turkey and Transportation Division regarding fair and equitable treatment, workloads, compliance with union contract, policies, practices, procedures, and government laws and regulations.  Receive, process EDD claims and represent the company at EDD hearings.  Represent company in internal disputes resolution procedures.  Interface with union representatives as needed.  Maintain accurate records of all concerns, complaints and investigations.  Represent company and issue decisions during grievance meetings and Board of Adjustments with the union. Ensuring that each come to closure.

    Maintain accurate assessments/records of employee concerns, complaints and issues that arise out of the course of employment and provide guidance to management to insure that they are brought to conclusion.

    Supervise HR clerical staff for the Turkey and Transportation Division to ensure all administrative functions are completed timely and accurately, including, but not limited to: LOA documentation, PAF’s, new hire worksheets and paperwork, step pay increases, sick and vacation payouts.  Follow-up to ensure that all documents are submitted timely and scanned into On Base for proper processing.  Tracking progress through audits and generation of reporting.

    Interact with employees regarding extensions to LOAs when employee has exhausted FMLA/CFRA and engage in the interactive process with employees under ADA Reasonable Accommodation process.

    Recruit for vacancies for all maintenance, non-union and management level positions.  Oversee staffing for hourly, union positions through clerical staff utilizing the uniform hiring process and posting process.  Generate staffing reports as needed.  Assist in the investigation of accidents.  Analyze statistical and case specific data and develop recommendations for timely correction of safety issues.

    Prepare annual wage increases for Salary, Clerical, Technical, and Non-Union and Union employees in area of responsibility. Assist in creating and submitting wage proposal recommendations based on surveys for all areas of responsibility.

    Coordinate all recognition and social events such as company picnics, holiday luncheons or dinners, service awards, retirement celebrations and United Way drivers, etc.

    Coordinate special projects when necessary such as budget reconciliations and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

    Act as company representative as requested at Worker’s Compensation meetings.

    Assume responsibility for Human Resources Manager’s tasks when necessary.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration/Human Resources is preferred or related field experience.
    • 1-3 years employee relations experience in unionized, manufacturing environment.
    • Knowledge of California and Federal OSHA laws with industrial case management experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of EEOC, labor codes and fair employment regulations.
    • Strong interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills.
    • Multi-language preferred (English/Spanish) or (English/Punjabi).
    • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people.
    • Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check
