Application Engineer Position Summary Are you looking for an exciting opportunity where you can share your passion for Engineering while being on the cutting edge of technology? The Rexnord Commercial Operations Group is seeking a Mechanical Applications Engineer for our Commercial Operations Team. The Application Engineer is responsible for performing specific engineering and analytical tasks directed toward the proper application and selection of Rexnord Products. This position will focus on our Energy Vertical Market with an emphasis in couplings. Will be located in the New Berlin area. This is a perfect jumping off point for an Engineer to launch into another field like Marketing, Sales, or Design. The sky is the limit with this position! Responsibilities Identify and solve problems presented to you by customers, customer service, manufacturing, quality, sales and engineering. Position is responsible for knowing the FALK brand coupling products from top to bottom and inside and out. The individual will work with customers to determine the best coupling for their application, to determine causes of coupling failure, maintenance procedures and help them with a system analysis. The person will work with manufacturing to determine machining, balancing and material requirements. The person will need to be familiar with AGMA, DIN, ISO, ANSI, API, ASTM and many other industrial standards used by Rexnord and the Rexnord customer base. Must be able to read and interpret Rexnord drawings along with customer drawings. Other responsibilities as required. Experience and Skill Required ** * Analyze and determine feasibility of design modifications and/or non-standard configurations. * Re-rate and modify existing Coupling designs. * Coordinate large project inquiries and quotations, which may include a multitude of Rexnord/Falk products * Provide review and analysis of customers technical specifications and applications in order to provide product selection with necessary options and accessories. * Provide review and analysis of Industry technical specifications and applications in order to provide product selection with necessary options and accessories. * Interact with various areas of the company in obtaining information for quotations. * Develop procedures and provide technical information to field sales. * Provide support for field representatives that will facilitate receipt of orders. * Assist in training field representatives and new employees. * Provide preliminary Creo and CADRA drawings. * BSME (Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering) or BSMET (Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology) required. * Minimum of 0- 2 years experience post graduation or coop in a professional engineering role. * Requires ability to read and interpret design prints as well as customer specifications. * Computer proficiency in MS Office, as well as cad or design software experienced a plus in Creo (will consider those with experience on comparable programs who could transfer their skills to Creo). * Flexibility with work hours to maintain a minimal backlog. Some domestic and international travel may be required. Desired: * Preferred candidates will have previous engineering experience working in heavy equipment industries * Experience with couplings or related power transmission equipment is highly desired.
