BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The Industrial Engineering Intern is responsible for helping to drive cost reduction activities through process improvements to directly impact the overall performance objectives for the company and compliance to AS9100 and NADCAP requirements and/or division.  This position reports to our Manufacturing Engineering Manager, and is located at our facility in Simi Valley, CA. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Assist manufacturing engineers in creation and implementation of process improvements
• Work closely with shop floor associates and manufacturing managers to document the current state of our manufacturing processes
• Work with Engineering teams to develop and apply lean tools to reach desired future state
• Monitor and maintain results from process improvement/cost saving initiatives

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS CAPABILITIES AND SUCCESS FACTORS

• Currently enrolled in a four-year engineering Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, Applied Science, Industrial Technology or related field.
• Familiarity with statistics and/or Lean Six Sigma/continuous improvement a plus.
• Proficiency with Solidworks CAD, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Organized and able to assess priority of many different tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive attitude toward meeting deadlines and objectives.
• Participate in a team environment with a focus on collaboration
