JOB SUMMARY: Safely ensures cups/lids are correctly packaged and packed in KD’s (boxes) and placed on conveyor according to customer specifications and quality standards.  Duties may also include: cup/lid inspection, ensuring correct cup/lid count, preparation of KD’s (boxes), housekeeping of the pack station area, ensuring automated packing tasks are completed, and/or grinding lids and rolled sheet into off line grinders, and rolling sheet off of floor to be ground. Understand and align business operations through execution of the role, exceeding customer expectations and aligning with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions may include, but are not limited to the following.

• Work within and adhere to GPI’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork.
• Perform all duties in a safe and orderly manner; Be actively engaged in safety programs.
• Ensure production and distribution of products consistent with established food safety, sanitation and quality standards.
• Inspect cups prior to being placed in KD (boxes).
• Open and position new KDs on KD stand; Remove KD from stand.
• Stamp and number required information on KD. Ensure information is correct and legible.
• Place or push full cases on conveyor.
• Operate case erector which includes loading appropriate KD’s and ensuring a smooth transition on change overs
• Start, stop, clear, and operate auto baggers and case erectors, including film, KD, label and ink loading.
• Obtain new film, as needed.
• Clean labeler; Clean seal bar on auto baggers.
• Grind defective lids in grinders.
• Count and adjust tape on trays; Change tape on bag taper when needed.
• Mark, bag, and tape plastic lids, then place into correct case.
• Gauge lids
• Repack damaged cases.
• Fill out quality check sheets and perform a quality check
• Segregate and properly dispose of spoilage and recyclable items.
• Communicate effectively with oncoming shift.
• Once qualified, instruct and train other.
• Maintain all work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
• Fulfill overtime requirements necessary to ensure production and distribution requirements are met.
• Assist in other areas or perform other duties, as assigned.

Required Skills

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

• Manufacturing experience, preferred but not required.
• 18 years or older.
• Basic mechanical background. Must have the skills necessary to perform technical tasks.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and detail orientation.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to follow verbal or written instructions.

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

• High School Diploma or GED, preferred but not required.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

• 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends off. 
• Must be willing and able to work overtime.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation.  This includes: Walking or standing for extended periods of time, up to 12-hours; Climbing stairs at case erectors; Lifting to 50 lbs; Carrying to 30 lbs.; Lowering to 30 lbs. from a height of 4 feet; Pushing carts; Visual acuity and depth perception; Working in various temperatures & humidity levels.
