  • Responsibilities

    The Project Engineering division is seeking an experienced electrical engineer with a background in managing capital and maintenance projects involving upgrading and maintaining equipment in heavy-industrial manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will possess a self-driven attitude and have a history of both technical and strategic involvement in electrical engineering projects. 

    This position is responsible for all electrical/electronic-related issues including projects, maintenance support, upgrading/maintaining facilities and equipment, as well as leading projects on their own with a focus on safety. The incoming associate will perform as a team member of various project teams where capital improvements have been identified against specific business issues and also serves as a coordinator or clearinghouse of ideas for continuous improvement techniques and implementation strategies

     

    KEY COMPETENCIES:

    • Results-driven with demonstrated ability working in a high-performance, high-volume manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to execute concise and effective “mission-based” effective programming in PC/PLC, and VB/data-based (such as industrial SQL) environments
    • Must have good attention to details, but be able to manage the big picture.
    • Must be able to manage multiple, complex tasks and deal easily with pressure on a day-in and day-out basis.
    • Critical thinker, with excellent analytical abilities.
    • Solid planning, leadership, and administrative skills.
    • High energy, demonstrates urgency, purpose, and fast pace.
    • MUST BE AVAILABLE TO TRAVEL UP TO 75%.

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
    • Engineering bachelor’s degree with strong electrical curriculum also considered

    Required Skills

    • Electronic component diagnostics and troubleshooting skills including PLCs, VFD Drives, DCS systems and computer related controls and programming capabilities.
    • AC/DC drives and motors, and servo control experience
    • PLC and PC based controls and instrumentation experience.
    • Wonderware, Visual Basic, database (SQL), industrial web applications, industrial communications
    • Excellent team skills - as team member and trainer and developer.
    • Thorough understanding of National Electric Code (NEC).

    Required Experience

      • 10-15 years of related experience, including 7-10 years of troubleshooting experience with close support of production equipment.
    • 10-15 years capital project management experience.
    • Technical training at various levels of the organization.
