Engineering Intern Department: Engineering Reports to: Engineering Manager Status: Part Time, Non-Exempt Shift: Day Pay Grade/Range: DOE EEO Category Administrative Support Workers Summary: The Engineering Intern, (EI) assists the engineering department with many tasks involving engineering, manufacturing, machining, enterprise resource programs, business and quality processes. The EI is expected to seek out and complete a variety of developmental assignments to build a solid foundation of engineering and manufacturing principles. The EI should project a professional attitude in support of company and department objectives. Primary Responsibilities: * Learns and uses the DISCUS ballooning software program to develop and modify bubble prints, AS9102s * Supports the Quality/Inspection dept. by developing and modifying Operational Inspection Reports (OIR) * Learns and uses the ERP system M1 to assist the eng. dept. with part methods, job entries, change requests and product returns (RMAs). * Assists the eng. dept with data tracking, Excel, Word file updates * Assists the eng. dept with cost estimates, production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions. * Learns and observes all company safety principles and guidelines * Other duties as may be assigned or directed by the VP of Engineering. Knowledge and Skill Requirements: * Must have a thorough knowledge of engineering basics, manufacturing processes, Microsoft Office suite programs, basic computer skills, and CAD programs a plus. * Ability to follow multi-level tasks with minimal supervision, learn new concepts and ask questions when necessary. Working Conditions: * Working conditions are normal for that of an office environment with occasional time spent in the manufacturing/machine shop environment.
