  • Responsibilities

    Coordinates activities of shipments, expedited and scheduled, as well as inbound and outbound. Assists with day-to-day operational duties of Haggerty Logistics :

    The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position. However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.

    • Schedule shipments and/or dispatch trucks to ensure timely delivery within scheduled times while ensuring compliance with DOT and FMCSA guidelines and company policies.
    • Communicates with Haggerty Logistics drivers as assigned by Operations Manager.
    • Interfaces with Operations Manager to secure additional drivers to satisfy capacity demands
    • Maintains assigned logs not limited to, but including: IFTA, Driver Assignments, Gas Receipts
    • Investigates shipper or consignee complaints regarding lost or damaged merchandise or shortages in shipments to determine responsibility
    • Update shipment tracking and maintain timely data integrity, both for internal and external customers utilizing tracking websites Omnitracs and Sylectus
    • Assist in locating loads/runs for drivers by bidding on loads/runs on websites such as XPO, Active Aero, and the DAT board.
    • Update Revenue per Hour (RPH) spreadsheet weekly to assess efficiency of each driver.
    • Recognize the job extends beyond the specific responsibilities detailed here.

    • Ability to navigate customer websites for customer specific requirements

    Technical Skills:

    Ability to work with the following software packages or programs:

    • Microsoft Office at an intermediate level
    • Effective email (Microsoft Outlook) and electronic communication skills
    • Ability to effectively use internet websites for shipping information
    • This position requires a typing speed of 45 words per minute.
    • Must have knowledge of all applicable state and federal regulations pertaining to interstate truckload transportation, DOT guidelines, FMCSA requirements

    Education and/or Experience:

    High School Diploma or GED; five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

    • Valid and current driver’s license with an acceptable record including the ability to operate company vehicles
    • Maintain valid and current Forklift Operators Permit


    Language Skills :

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

    Mathematical Skills :

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Business Judgment:

    Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures in a professional and consistent manner. Able to apply common sense understanding and use appropriate judgment in routine business situations with supervisor, co-workers and customers. Maintain the ultimate example of business judgment and professional conduct at all times. The ability to understand and strictly follow both internal and external business ethics and standards.
