The Maxilab (an automated, intermediate-scale lab production facility) and the Lexan development facility (LDF, a semi-works/pilot plant) are dedicated to innovative process and product development to support both Specialties and PetChem strategic business units. Position Description Support Process chemistry efforts in the Process Technology Group, primarily by performing analysis of polycarbonate resins and process samples obtained from pilot plants/manufacturing. Support efforts could expand to also include lab-based experiments for Specialties or PetChem projects. Operation of analytical instrumentation and interpretation of data including HPLC, GPC, UV-VIS, GC, and titration. Provide testing support for scale up of new polymers and process improvements in the commercial resin plant. Support lab-based experiments as part of project team Prepare calibration standards and routine calibration of analytical methods. Troubleshoot instrumentation issues. Coordinate wet lab safety and housekeeping. Maintain lab PPE supplies. Maintain accurate laboratory records and communicate results to other team members. This position is open in our Mt. Vernon, IN site, just west of Evansville, IN. -Requirements -Degrees/ Experience: Minimum BS, Chemistry. Prior experience in pilot plant lab preferred with >6 months work experience in lab environment. Must have ability and willingness to work overtime and call-ins as needed.
