    What will my job really be?

    The Polaris Sales & Marketing Development Program (SMDP) offers you the unique opporutunity to accelerate your career development, business knowledge, and leadership skills through four, six month long rigourous business rotations within the Sales and Marketing departments. In each rotation you will be challenged to develop your skills and further build your business foundation to accelerate your career development for future positions of significant responsibility. Throughout your program assignments, you will not only work with other colleagues in your function, but you will network with key business leaders throughout the company. Upon graduating from the program, you choose whether you will continue your career with Polaris in a Sales or Marketing path.

    What to expect during the program:

    You will have an individualized development plan throughout your rotations in Sales, Product and Marketing allowing you to:

    • Collaborate on cross functional teams in order to design, develop and implement various projects.
    • Work towards solving business challenges that require you to have a wide range of experience within a variety of sales and markeing roles from the very foundation of your career.
    • Demonstrate your competence on complex cross-functional projects that stretch beyond most new college graduate positions.
    • Tailor your rotations based on your long-term career goals of Sales or Marketing

    These rotations are designed to help build a solid and well-rounded business background, focused in Sales and Marketing. Some of the areas you’ll gain exposure to in your rotations include:

    • Retail Marketing: Sales Events, Training, In-Store, Local Advertising Strategy
    • Media Execution: Creative Development, Agency Management, Social Media, Digital Marketing
    • Marketing Communications: New Product Introduction, Marketing Collateral Creation, Asset Creation
    • Product Planning and Development: Product Development Process, Market Research
    • Dealer Development: Prospect Identification and Sell-In, Market Analysis, Competitive Analysis
    • Territory Sales: Account Management, Territory Planning, Retail Planning, Demand Creation

  • Qualifications

    Checklist for success:

    • Four-year degree with coursework emphasis in Business, Sales or Marketing (minimum overall GPA: 3.0)
    • The drive to actively contribute to both personal and company-wide goals through creative and innovative thinking
    • Proven strength in analysis and creative problem solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership
    • Geographic mobility
