    Reports To: Director of Planning and Analysis

    Position Summary:

    The Manager of Financial Analysis will be a key member of the Financial Planning & Analysis 'FP&A' team. This FP&A team is responsible for all aspects of financial planning including designing and implementing the annual budgeting process, developing financial projections and long-term scenarios, applying spending policies to endowed funds, transferring assets between funds, accounts and budgets, managing and forecasting the foundation’s operating reserve, analyzing for liquidity planning, liaising with all departments across the organization, and providing trainings to support staff’s familiarity with our financial performance and results. The FP&A team partners with the other two teams within SFF’s Finance unit, which are the Accounting team and the Investments team.

    Position Scope and Responsibilities:

    • Design and maintain clear and effective financial models, analyses, reports, and resources that showcase financial management and inform strategic decision making.

    • Provide analytical expertise, technical support, and ongoing training to department budget managers and their assistants regarding their financial management questions and requests.

    • Project manage the budgeting and forecasting cycles for SFF's operations, grantmaking, projects, and initiatives.

    • Analyze, prepare, and present financial results, projections, and financial concepts to various audiences spanning from new hires to our Board of Directors.

    • Manage the funds in the general ledger system, including the architecture of fund attributes and recordkeeping standards, quality control of fund information, setup of new funds, periodic review and analysis of fund balances and initiative spending, as well as develop standards for fund opening /closing processes and financial reporting to funders.

    • Support the financial reporting and planning needs of Projects and Initiatives, which includes: informing project budget management and external reporting, coordinating with Program staff to maintain accurate information for use in grant applications/fund reports/initiative tracking, and training new staff on their financial and budget reports.

    • Monitor our financial systems and partner with Accounting, Human Resources, and other departments to ensure data integrity and accurate funding and coding of financial data. Leverage and maintain documentation of our financial policies and procedures.

    • Develop operating cash flow forecasts to the Finance team for liquidity planning and prepare periodic journal entries to move assets between the investment pool and the bank.

    • Provide analytical support for new product development, pricing, grantmaking due diligence processes, and capital spending proposals, as relevant.

    • Support and provide guidance to the Financial Analyst.

    • Actively participate in process improvement conversations, team building projects, and other initiatives as requested.

    • Participate and engage in cross-departmental activities that may be outside the incumbents' core work scope that are linked to the North Star of the organization.

    • Other responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years working in finance/accounting, with experience in fund accounting and/or grants management being quite beneficial.

    • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, with particularly advanced capabilities in Excel for financial modeling (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, macros, etc)

    • Adept at developing strong cross-departmental partnerships with colleagues across a wonderfully diverse organization

    • Proficiency utilizing systems and adopting new technologies to streamline processes and communications. (Position will frequently interface with Salesforce, Questica, Financial Edge, Fluxx, etc)

    • Very strong analytical, customer-service, communication, time management, and project management skills

    • Solutions-oriented, proactive, responsive, and conscientious team player with a growth mindset

    • Bachelor’s degree required
