    Scientist II Gene Therapy Waltham, MA/en-US/SanofiCareers/job/Waltham-MA/Scientist-II-Gene-Therapy_R2488354-1/apply We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic PhD level Scientist to join our gene therapy research group to advance the development of gene therapy treatments for hemophilia and other rare blood disorder diseases. The successful candidate will have experience in viral vector design, genetic engineering, and production of lentiviral and/or AAV vectors. The scientist will be involved in the development of novel gene therapy approaches for the treatment of genetic diseases. Responsibilities: * Design and optimization of Lentiviral and/or AAV system for Gene Therapy * Development and optimization of conditions for large-scale research-grade production of lentiviral vectors in suspension culture * Design and generation of lentiviral vector stable producer cell line * Design, generation, and titration of baculoviruses for AAV vector production in insect cells * Presentation of scientific results to group members, multi-disciplinary research teams, and at external meetings or conferences Qualifications: * Extensive experience designing and producing viral vectors is required * Proficiency working with adherent and suspension mammalian cell lines * Experience working with insect cell lines and using the baculovirus system for production of AAV is a plus * Experience with tangential flow filtration and chromatographic methods for viral vector purification * Proficiency in modern molecular biology techniquesnbsp; * Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team environment * Ability to take initiative, change direction as needed, work independently and proactively, and take risks Education: * PhD in Virology or Molecular Biology with 2-5 years of post-doctoral experience or industry background Sanofi US Services, Inc. and its U.S. affiliates are Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employers committed to a culturally diverse workforce.
