    Innovation Scientist - Cosmetics US New United States, New Jersey, South Plainfield Research and Development Oct 09, 2018 Post Date 003845 Requisition # Apply for Job Share this Job Sign Up for Job Alerts JOB SUMMARY: In addition to developing new technologies based on identified business needs, market trends and sales force input, the Innovation Scientist will work on Technical requests that may include but are not limited to expanding and/or improving existing lines of cosmetic raw materials/ingredients products and technical support of all aspects of manufacturing and customer support. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate with manager/business to determine research objectives Planning and carrying out experiments related to development of personal care ingredients Create a plan of action and set project goals and manage them to completion Identify market trends and patterns Utilize various professional sources to find and extract pertinent information Perform evaluative analysis of selected resources and current market data Organize and maintain research databases Analyzing results of the experiments Working with others to use and develop end product Work independently to design, run and document experiments as well as be able to present findings to customers in presentation and in written format. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent record keeping with complete, accurate and legible data Familiar with procedures to transfer technologies from the laboratory to the production environment preferred Well-versed and comfortable working with standard and pilot-scale laboratory equipment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent knowledge in working with various computers software systems such as Microsoft Office Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with diverse groups of people at various levels Ability to meet deadlines while being flexible to changes in priorities and interruptions Experience in searching and filing a patent or at least some knowledge of the concept Self-motivated but able to work well within a team environment Creative as a problem solver Able to multi-task and coordinate various simultaneous projects concurrently Knowledge of cGMP procedures and processes preferred. Knowledge of color and color match skills is a plus Knowledge of equipment and procedures for making dispersions and handling powders will be considered a plus EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree in Chemistry or related science field from an accredited university is required At least 3 years experience working in the laboratory environment preferred ABOUT SENSIENT COLORS: Sensient Color Group is a leading developer, producer and supplier of natural and synthetic color systems for customers around the globe.
