Field Service Technician - Control Valves (La Porte, TX) Job Summary: A
Field Service Technician will be skilled and understand the purpose and
principles of operating motor-operated valves. In this role, you will be
responsible for installation, connection, servicing, testing,
adjustment, repair, maintenance, removal, trouble shooting, inspection
and replacement of electric actuators. Primary Duties &
Responsibilities: * Performs repair, service, maintenance and assembly
operations while maintaining safety and quality as a top priority in and
around mechanical, industrial and electrical equipment * Demonstrate
sound judgment with the ability to make decisions and corrections when
problems are identified / detected when servicing safety, safety relief
and/or control valves in the field. * Ensure all products
repaired/assembled meet the quality standards in accordance with
procedures, engineering specifications, drawings, and work instructions.
- Perform functional tests as required * Collects data and documents and
prepares detailed reports for customer review, billing records and
expense reporting * Assume responsibility and handle multiple tasks
under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions * Adhere to all
policies and procedures * Practice safe work habits to ensure an injury
free environment * Use physical force to lift, push, pull, and hold
equipment and tools * Climb and work at various heights, sometimes
working in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling
position * Routinely react to visual, aural, and other signals,
including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect
work * Be on the job and available to work overtime, at times for
extended periods of time based on seasonal customer demands * Operate
motor vehicle, as required * Attend job and safety training, as
necessary or required * Any job duties as assigned by supervisor or
manager Positional Requirements & Qualifications: Education &
Experience: * High school diploma or equivalent GED or a minimum of 2
years of experience in safety, safety relief and/or control valve
maintenance. * Associates degree preferred * At least 3 years in safety,
safety relief and/or control valves, preferred * Minimum of 3 years
experience in mechanical repair/production environment * Experience
working in and around mechanical, industrial and electrical equipment *
Experience working in a gas gathering system operation, preferred *
Experience working with measurement devices and test gauges Skills &

others * High energy, detail oriented * Ability to read and interpret
blueprints * Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations *
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PSV Data, Capacity charts and
assembly and test instructions * Ability to successfully manage multiple
tasks within a fast paced environment * Ability to read and interpret
documents such as master schedule, safety rules, operating instructions,
drawings/prints and procedure manuals * Ability to prepare detailed
reports and correspondence that are clear and intelligible * Ability to
effectively communicate with all levels of management, customers and
other employees * Sound judgment with the ability to make decisions and
corrections when problems are detected * Ability to work independently
and/or in team assignments * Strong safety record and knowledge of
safety rules and practices * Ability and willingness to work overtime as
needed to support customer requirements and seasonal business volume *
Strong history of dependability and reliability * Strong interpersonal
skills and ability to work well with others * Basic knowledge of
Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook * Must
have a valid drivers license and good driving record * Must be able to
obtain and/or maintain a TWIC and DOT Drivers license * Willing and able
to lift and work with Personal Protective Equipment, including Emergency
Breathing Apparatus Essential Physical Functions: * Position is
performed in a shop environment and outdoors, in and around mechanical,
industrial and electrical equipment. The work environment subject to
extreme weather related variations due to weather conditions and
operating equipment. * Continuously working with required safety
personal equipment, with regular pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching,
bending, and other physical activities. * Regularly works moving from
ground level to high elevations, raising/lifting up to 50 lbs., manually
transporting a load up to 75 lbs. and applying up to 100 lbs. of torque.
