  • Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Manage and develop Invacare’s privacy policies and procedures across the global business units for compliance with various regional privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR and CCPA
    • Develop guidelines and procedures for identifying privacy risk and evaluating privacy implications of new projects or systems
    • Design and coordinate controls for ensuring privacy by design of connected products (IoT), platforms and initiatives
    • Develop and manage external privacy management solution (experience with OneTrust preferred)
    • Support the IT organization’s Global Change Control Board on privacy matters
    • Provide and coordinate privacy training among employees across geographies
    • Maintain processes to enable compliant cross-border data transfers including coordination of applicable assessment process (e.g., standard contractual clauses)
    • Lead incident response, including data breach preparedness and incident investigations
    • Assess and address privacy-related risks and requests arising from customers, suppliers and projects
    • Conduct Data Privacy Impact Assessments to identify risks associated with data processing activities
    • Review third party Data Processing Agreements (DPA) and assist in the updating of Invacare’s DPA template
    • Manage and develop policies and procedures for handling Privacy Information Requests from internal and external data subjects (e.g., verification)
    • Review contracts with external vendors to address privacy-related risk mitigation and compliance measures
    • Coordinate a network of GDPR compliance liaisons across all sites in EMEA and APAC regions
    • Serve as contact point of GDPR supervisory authorities, in conjunction with the Legal Department, on data privacy matters
    • Coordinate and lead third-party process for conducting a global data privacy gap assessment to identify compliance program maturity and coordinate appropriate remediation activities
    • Complete all required training applicable to assigned position.

    CANDIDACY FOR THIS POSITION REQUIRES:

    • 1-3 years administrative experience

    • Must have exceptional verbal and written communications skills (in English)

    • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

    • Computer skills including spreadsheet (MS Office Word and Excel) and email at a proficient level

    • Time management skills

    • Demonstrated multi-tasking ability and effective organizational skills in order to meet short deadlines with finite resources

    • Must be able to work without sponsorship
