You will become a part of key management meetings and participate in meaningful projects. Responsibilities You will have exposure and the opportunity to broaden your skills through impactful work, mentored relationships, and will gain real world exposure to different disciplines on Smithfield Business Management team. Manage the profitability (Profit & Loss Statement) of a segment of our business. This may be on the packaged or fresh side of business. Track market forecasts and trends while protecting company assets and profitability. Gain exposure to analyzing price, volume, profit & loss, and price & inventory management while w orking cross-functionally with various departments including marketing, sales and plant operations to drive profitability. Learn quality merchandising and the importance of execution in item performance. Experience trade planning and the elasticity of categories at multiple retail levels. Utilize company reports to analyze inventory activity and gross profit. Create formal proposals and presentations to various levels of management. Marketing, Management, Business Administration, Agbusiness or Related Major. Must have completed your sophomore year in college. Must be in good academic standing. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD. Willingness to learn and work in a team environment. Proactive thinker and self-motivated. Strong time, project, and organizational management skills. The ability to work independently.
